Welch shot a 1-under, 71 in the opening round Monday morning to have him tied for seventh place. Those two players are Coby Welch and Joshua Matz who sit at 1-over par and even-par, respectively. A pair of Bears enter tomorrow with two holes to play. At the suspension, UNC sits in fifth place at 15-over par with three players inside the top 10. The dreary weather caused a delay at the beginning of the tournament leading to a suspension due to darkness of the final 18 of the 36-holes scheduled for day one.
